    C. Eston Singletary

Eston was born in Sulphur, Louisiana. He received his B.A. degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1969, and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. in 1973.

Following his graduation from Georgetown, Eston practiced law in Washington until 1983, concentrating on securities, commercial and business law. From 1978 to 1981, Eston was an Assistant Director of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

In 1983, Eston returned to Southwest Louisiana to practice law.  Between then and now, he practiced with the Carmouche Firm and then the Scofield Firm. Since his return, Eston has represented businesses, individuals and governmental entities in a wide variety of regulatory, tax, commercial, business, oil and gas, and real estate matters. Eston’s clients range from large industries to newly formed businesses. Through his representation of industries locating and expanding in Louisiana, Eston has become well versed in state and local tax matters and in the tax incentive programs offered by the state. Eston has an extensive estate planning practice, and his representation of medical groups and hospitals has led to great familiarity with the changing legal environment affecting the medical community.

Eston is a co-author of the Louisiana Mineral Law Treatise edited by Patrick H. Martin, campanile Professor of Law, Emeritus at LSU and published by Claitor's Publishing Division in 2012.
