Jay was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and attended McNeese State University upon graduation from high school, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with minors in English, History, and Biology. Soon thereafter, Jay attended Loyola University New Orleans’ College of Law, where he was a contributing editor of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal, one of only four maritime law journal publications in the country. You can find his article, Planetary Pandemonium: Legal Concerns Regarding SpaceX’s Mars Colonization Claims, in Vol. 22, Issue 2. Jay was also Vice President of the International Law Society, a teaching assistant for Profs. Patrick Hugg and Blaine LeCesne, and a student mentor. Jay earned the Asterisk Award for the highest grade in Torts, and graduated in the top third of his class. Jay spends most of his free time playing guitar, cheering on the LSU Tigers, cooking, hunting, and golfing.
